I have for your consideration a fabulous pair of Limoges France porcelain charger decorated the hand-painted roses and corn poppies with the crisp and vibrant colors, signed by the listed artist L. They are marked by Union factory which was in business from about 1909 until 1938 and Robert Haviland Factory after 1924.
Robert Haviland was the grandson of Charles Field Haviland. He established his own porcelain company around 1924. He was not connected with Haviland and Company or Theodore Haviland. He also did not become the successor to his grandfather's firm Charles Field Haviland under Major Limoges Companies. That mark has been used by his company since that time. Robert Haviland was associated with Le Tanneur until about 1948, and with C. The company is currently in operation. An ornate gold gilded fluted porcelain band forms a rich frame surrounding the hand painted roses. The pair of porcelain chargers is in very good condition, with no chip, crack, hairline and repair.. Measurement: D: 12.6" (32 cm) x H: 1.75" (4.5 cm).
